The starting point of Gunshot is the repeated acts of violence with firearms that are daily reported in the world. The possibility of their use without regulations is causing the killing and death of people to become part of daily life. I am interested in working on well-known historical killings as strategy to achieve a direct and swift approach to the public.
In this series I use the bullet as element of aggression in order to paint images of people admittedly killed by bullet wounds, such as John Lennon, Che Guevara and John F. Kennedy. In this way I intentionally use missiles that are commonly employed to destroy and kill as a weapon to question a world marked by violence. The series Gunshot marks a more critical direction in my work, and with it I channel my ethical commitment with society.
